Imagine if you will: an apocalyptic, post-slavery world where college dorms are still segregated and certain students demand to have segregated graduations. Or where certain students claim privilege over another due to skin color. Where the science of gender and identity is challenged on a daily basis. Where leftists, who claim the mantle of tolerance and inclusivity, bend themselves into pretzels to deny actual societal progress.
This apocalyptic world, of course, is found on the political Left.
Leftists always accuse conservatives of desperately wanting to return to a lily-white past which never really existed.
Ah yes—that mythical land where laws are followed, family is cherished, God is worshipped, patriotism is ordinary, capitalism is seen as the last, great economic hope, immigrants are legal and assimilated, drugs and crime aren’t rampant, oversexualized teenagers aren’t gyrating on Snapchat and Instagram, and the Kardashians never existed. Sounds downright oppressive!
During the last eight years or so (coincidentally, around the beginning of the “fundamental transformation” promised by domestic terrorist-loving President Barack Obama), liberals have made it their mission to:
A. remain pissed off at all times
and
B. accuse everyone who’s not them of racism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, sexism, misogyny, and unbridled hatred.
They, by contrast, excrete multicultural love, sunshine and fairy dust.
In addition to demanding racially segregated dorms, graduation ceremonies, #SafeSpaces, and denying the biology of gender, the Left’s latest affront to the Founding Fathers comes courtesy of HBO.
The creators of the overhyped and over-CGI’d Game of Thrones have decided to throw their hats into the political arena–because there aren’t enough leftists in Hollywood already insulting normal Americans.
“Confederate” is an upcoming “alternate history drama” on HBO with a plot that asks the simple question: what if the Confederacy had won the Civil War? I can see it now: a bunch of hipster and Gen X Harvard and Yale graduates sitting around a conference table, stroking their whispy-bearded chins and congratulating themselves about how “meta” and “groundbreaking” their insulting, stupid idea is. Emmys for everyone!
This gross misrepresentation of history is a grave insult to the 600,000 men who died to ultimately end slavery, and to the hundreds of thousands more who were permanently injured. It’s also an affront to the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and to the men who wrote them.
While slavery did indeed exist during colonial and Revolutionary times, the Founding Fathers wrote the documents in such a way to all but guarantee slavery’s demise. Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence: “We declare these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights: that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness .”
This was a truly revolutionary way of thinking.
America didn’t invent slavery, but America was the country to begin the end of slavery. Slavery and our Founding Documents could not co-exist.
But don’t tell that to a leftist.
The Left realizes they must keep their base of loonies ginned up and angry at all times. They claim to foist a mantle of progressivism, but in reality, they are the regressive ones living in the past.
To a leftist, not only does slavery still exist, but evidently so do Jim Crow laws, KKK lynchings, Plessy vs. Ferguson “separate but equal” doctrines, and all kinds of other policies invented by Democrats. Look around some college campuses and ironically, you’ll see some of the same segregation people literally died to destroy.
In a leftist’s world, women are completely and totally oppressed. Why, American women are practically second-class citizens and have made absolutely no progress at all! Maybe if they can escape the boot of an oppressive man they’ll be able to vote one day!
Think I’m exaggerating? Just look at the unending #GirlPower, psycho feminism, female empowerment, #BodyPositive, no #SlutShaming, no #FatShaming push by every company from Nike to Dove and everyone in between.
If a company doesn’t have some sort of “Hey, girls are people too!” marketing propaganda, they’ll catch holy hell from the shrill leftists in charge of the cultural status quo.
(Not included in a leftist’s outrage is the ACTUAL oppression women and girls endure in the Muslim world. But I digress.)
Which brings us to the Bizarro World of *not-girls* now claiming the mantle of “girl” because they say they are.
It’s all so convoluted.
On the one hand, women are claiming their rights are trampled on a daily basis and Trump wants to take away their birth control pills.
In the same lane run the transgenders: boys who in their heads THINK they are girls. That’s quite the oppression women have going! It’s so bad over here that even BOYS want to be sexualized, objectified, demoralized, passed over for promotions, and chained to the drudgery of motherhood and wifedom.
The reality, of course, is much different—and even a leftist knows it.
Most people don’t walk around and think “How can I oppress this person today?” Most people tolerantly live their lives, and generally don’t give much thought to how you might live yours.
The progress we have made with civil rights and women’s rights over the past 100 years–and certainly in the last 50 years–is nothing to sneeze at.
The truth is, if you are a woman, transgender or a minority, getting a good job at a major company is much easier today than ever before. The straight, white males are the ones feeling the brunt of discrimination—and they’re blamed for everything under the sun.
The simple fact is this: liberals refuse to #MoveOn. They are content with believing around every corner there’s a white guy in a hood with a rope or a disembodied, rusty clothes hanger just waiting to give a back-alley abortion.
Their leaders in politics, media, and the culture implicitly understand this truism:
Keep. Them. Angry.
Keep them marching, keep them bitching, keep them inventing things to offend them.
And never, EVER allow the lemmings to see the lies behind the curtain.
