When a mixed-race psychopath (I have to make that distinction because the Los Angeles Times made a stunningly stupid error and implied that Chris Harper-Mercer was a white supremacist) opened fire on a group of innocent students at Umpqua Community College near Roseberg, Oregon, asking each one of them if they were a Christian and if they answered “yes” then shot them in the head, your president (not mine—I impeached him a long time ago) immediately politicized the tragedy.
Nothing new there, right? After all, this is the man who regularly steps in the figurative dung pile after such an event, immediately making it about himself and his idiot liberal “gun control” policies. In a 12-minute speech to the country, this egomaniac referred to himself 28 times. HIMSELF. Not the families affected by the carnage—but the Great and Powerful Obama.
Not only did he make it all about himself and gun control, even going so far as saying that anyone who doesn’t see the need for a massive gun grab at this point is basically an idiot, but he did not ONCE mention the fact that this murderer singled out Christians to kill. If someone professed his Christianity, the maniac shot them in the head. If they denied Christ or said they were another religion or no religion, they were shot in the leg. Can you imagine what this president, who bends over backwards for the Muslim world and for a manipulative 14-year-old amateur bomb maker named Ahmed Mohamed, would have said had the gunman targeted Muslims? He already implied that collectively we, the American people, are responsible for the shooting because many of us own weapons. I have no doubt that he would’ve then made the leap that us eeeevilllll Americans all hate Muslims and it was Islamophobia that caused the gunman to act.
But I digress.
What Obama, his flunkies in the media, and liberals in general don’t seem to grasp is that UCC, like Virginia Tech, like a movie theatre in Aurora, CO, like an elementary school in Newton, Connecticut, and like many other locations of mass shootings are “Gun-Free Zones.” You know, places where sanctimonious signs are placed in prominent locations warning law-abiding people that within those walls they have no Second Amendment rights. Those very signs that a psychopathic killer will use to gauge just how many sitting ducks are available for slaughter are locations that Obama thinks should be mandatory throughout the country.
Because he doesn’t ever seem to grasp the fact that mass shootings rarely occur in places whose populations demand robust Second Amendment compliance, like Texas (more on that later), I think we, as concerned citizens looking out for our wonderful president, should grant him his heartfelt wish. Congress should bring a bill to the floor of the House to disarm ALL his Secret Service protection and protection for his lovely wife and daughters. All of it. His personal detail, the snipers on the White House roof, the agents posted at every door, the agents who, armed, check out every location to make sure it’s safe for His and Her Highness. The agents who trail his daughters as they sup at the exclusive Sidwell Friends school, the agents who follow the family when they go hang out in Whiteytown—I mean, the Hamptons or Martha’s Vineyard. Don’t you think it would go a long way to show how serious our thoughtful, brilliant president is if he would demand a mass disarming of the very people whose job it is to keep him and his family safe? I sure do!
Of course, this will never happen, because “gun control” isn’t about guns at all. It’s about government control. The Founding Fathers placed the Second Amendment in the Constitution not so hunters can hunt and sports enthusiasts can do what they do….they placed it in the Constitution so the citizenry can protect itself against a tyrannical, overreaching government. One of liberals’ most truly annoying traits (and they have many) is they think they know what’s best for everyone. And by “everyone” I mean YOU. Not them, of course. They are above their own petty dictates and rules. But for Joe Normal living in Anytown, U.S.A., they believe that he’s too stupid to handle a weapon safely and not begin shooting up innocent people because that’s just what people with guns DO, don’t you know?
Which brings me to Texas. Most people revere Texas as a mythological place, where renegades roam the land, kick ass and take names, and generally behave awesomely. Most people are correct. Sure, we have our flaws, as all states do, but overall, Texas stands as a bastion of liberty in a country where liberty is greatly receding. Texas recently passed Open Carry (very late to the table, in my opinion) and Campus Carry. Both laws take effect in January, 2016. Open Carry allows people with a Concealed Handgun License (CHL) to openly carry their weapon in a holster. Campus Carry is the same, but on a college campus. As we’ve seen, college campuses have become sitting ducks for lunatics, so I am particularly excited about this. Imagine if UCC, instead of having a security guard who wasn’t allowed to carry a weapon, had MANY students and security who were either carrying openly or concealed? The shooter would’ve been dispatched much more quickly to Satan’s lair, and most likely would’ve taken far fewer lives. Of course, the hyper-liberal University of Texas in Austin seeks to do away with their own Campus Carry, which would be a huge mistake, but never underestimate the stupidity of utopian demagogues.
As we saw in Garland, Texas in May 2015 at the Draw Mohammed art contest (still one of my favorite things, by the way), two Islamonazis were quickly sent to their 72 smelly, troglodytic, male virgins (one can dream) by quick- thinking law enforcement agents who were armed. Inside the event, a great many of the participants were also armed—so those two Islamist punks wouldn’t have gotten far regardless. But the point remains clear. An armed citizen can stop a slaughter. It only takes ONE armed person to stop a maniac. And the beautiful thing is, in Texas, you can pretty much guarantee there will be far more than just one person who is armed in any given situation. To me, this is a pretty strong indicator as to why nutjobs tend to not single out Texas for massacre of its citizens, because nutjobs know that Texas DOES. NOT. PLAY.
Now, if only more states would get on board the common sense train, President Gun Free Zone wouldn’t have a grievance pot to piss in.
