Democrats love to preach to the rest of us about how they “trust the science” – and only rubes would question their “settled science.”
Whether it’s invented “settled science” about man-made climate change or invented “settled science” of coronavirus and masks, dictatorial leftists love shoving their fakery down all of our throats.
However, nothing is more dangerous than what they are attempting to do today with our economy and our children’s education.
Half the country seems perfectly fine with denying livelihoods to people and having children learn “virtually” – which has proven an unmitigated disaster.
The simple fact is, most of the Western world has already re-opened. Businesses have reopened and so have schools. There has been no record of cases — ZERO – of children passing coronavirus to any adult, much less a teacher. For whatever reason, coronavirus does not seem to affect children much whatsoever – and that’s a good thing!
Forcing young children into masks and plexiglass boxes staggered six feet apart will never work. Neither will insisting on “online learning”– because, as mentioned, it’s proven to be a total calamity with very little learning actually taking place.
Instilling a culture of fear and hopelessness into very young minds will only be a greater detriment to them as they get older. It’s great for leftist propagandists, and horrific for the next generation.
Dr. Scott Atlas of the Hoover Institute is one of the few brave voices who is saying children must be in school and participating in day-to-day routines and lessons. Most teachers want to go back to school and teach in an actual classroom.
The ones who don’t are hard-core leftists who are demanding Medicare For All, defunding of police, and the eradication of Donald Trump in order to step foot back inside a classroom.
These are also the same people who have ratcheted up to hysterical proportions the threat of a virus with just a slightly higher mortality rate than the flu.
Schools are not only places where children learn how to read, write, solve math problems, learn about history, and perform science experiments (at least they used to be). They are also places children learn how to walk in a straight line, socialize, learn how to make friends, and coexist with different types of people.
They are places where children can develop a thick skin against the daily slings and arrows of life. They are places many children go to eat their only nutritious meals of the day.
School is a place where many children are physically safe. During this insanity we’ve all been forced to live through, there have been a dramatic decrease in child abuse cases. This is not the good news your typical Democrat may think it is. The reason there are probably fewer cases is because teachers (who have a legal responsibility to report suspected child abuse) are not seeing the children who might need help the most. And so, these children are left in vulnerable and violent environments with no hope of escape.
2020 will be the year that propaganda and fear became normalized and nationalized. We should not pass on this propaganda and fear to our children.
All schools – K-12 and colleges and universities — must reopen in the fall, without exception. Mandating plexiglass, masks, social distance, virtual learning, or whatever the left is demanding is unrealistic and will not work. Common sense practices like sending a child to the nurse (like the good old days of six months ago) if he or she feels sick and going about normal life is what is needed.
It sickens me to my core that the left is inciting hysteria over a virus that has over a 99% survival rate overall. Inciting hysteria over a virus which generally does not affect children, and one which children do not pass to adults.
The propaganda must stop because our children truly are the future. A propagandized, fearful generation of children will lead to a disaster for this country with ramifications we can’t currently comprehend.
It’s time to let common sense make a comeback.
Take your mask and shove it, and fully reopen America and all schools.
