You have to hand it to liberals. Their cohorts in the media thinks so little of their braindead followers that they simply invent new narratives and their lemmings just lap it up.
Last Saturday, President George W. Bush passed away. We can all agree he was a fine and decent man and a solid president, with a resume like no other. If there was a checklist of being “most qualified” to be President of the United States, George H.W. Bush would’ve checked all the boxes. He was a heroic World War II Navy aviator, a very successful oil man, served in Congress, headed the Republican National Committee, served briefly as director of the C.I.A., and was Vice President—all before he became POTUS. He and his wife (the love of his life) Barbara were married almost 75 years and now are rejoicing in heaven with their sweet, forever-young daughter Robin who they lost to leukemia so long ago.
Suddenly, our leftist media seems to be completely on board with praising him! Naturally, they compare him to their sworn enemy President Trump. Because, as we hear 24 hours a day, there has never been anyone more evil or horrible than Donald Trump.
This revisionist history liberals engage in is TIRED. We all know the heaping praise they are now showering on Bush 41 is not at all how they used to treat the man. Like with every Republican, the media and their cohorts paint conservatives or even moderate Republicans as the second coming of Adolf Hitler.
They are wholly unoriginal. Today, their rabid vitriol has certainly ratcheted up a few thousand notches over President Trump. Why? Can it really be they just hate his tweets? No. It goes much deeper than that.
First of all, he is effective. He has pushed forward a pro-growth, low taxes, America First agenda to the chagrin of the global left. Secondly, he pushes back on these frauds—and the only way he can get HIS side of the story out to the public at large is through social media. He can’t count on the far-left proglodytes in traditional media to ever give him a fair shot. And lastly? He is a complete disruptor. He is a totally unique character—and like no president we’ve ever had before.
They hate him for those reasons and so much more. He’s not the kind of Republican the media can push around every day.
It’s good to remind the sudden Bush family fans in the media that they called President George H.W. Bush a wimp, out of touch, an elitist, patrician, New England prep school boy, a warmonger, a destroyer of the economy, and–like every Republican before or since — uninterested in the plight of minorities. He was out to protect the “super wealthy” – just like all evil Republicans are.
However, judging from the news coverage the last few days, it seems the media has had a change of heart and would all vote en masse for Bush 41 given the opportunity. Because, compared to Donald Trump, President George H.W. Bush was “reasonable.” Yes, to them, he was “reasonable” because he lost his reelection bid to morally bankrupt Bill Clinton because he reneged on his “no new taxes” promise he made the American people. To them, that means he’s a hero! By capitulating to Democrats, Bush became the last good Republican president.
I will remind my hilariously misguided liberal friends who have now changed their Facebook and Twitter avatars to pictures of Bush 41: there’s never been a Bush they haven’t despised.
As we all remember, liberals routinely called for the assassination of George W. Bush . They also called him a war criminal — just like they called his father. They called him a stupid idiot, a monkey, a drunk, a frat boy, and of course…Hitler.
But, like his father before him, Bush 43 felt the presidency should be above petty partisanship and bickering with the media. In a perfect world, if the media were actually objective, their instincts might have proven effective. But now, unfortunately, they are dead wrong.
Just like the media lionized the late John McCain when he raged against Donald Trump and even his very own constituents in Arizona, they had the long knives out for him when he ran against Barack Obama in 2008.
Because, no matter how much capitulating a Republican does to the media or elected Democrats, they will always hate the Republican by default.
Therefore, it’s pointless to try and mollify these angry, petulant children.
Donald Trump lives rent-free in all liberals’ heads. By making everything about Donald Trump, the media has become completely disingenuous. This phenomenon is nothing new to those of us paying attention. But anyone who was alive in the last 40 years remembers all the abuse heaped upon every Republican president, and the obsequious media slobbering given to every Democrat.
This revisionist history is absurd.
Again, everyone can agree the Bush family is very honorable and decent. Certainly, the nation mourns the loss of President George H.W. Bush. But there’s no question that there’s not going to be the kind of organic, public show of affection by the American people like there was with Ronald Reagan when he passed away. I predict the American people will treat the death of President Trump how they treated the death of President Reagan.
Do you want to know why?
Because, like Reagan, President Trump is a massive change agent. But unlike Reagan, before he ran for president, Trump had no experience in politics at all. That made them nervous enough as it was! But over and above that, Trump fights back with both barrels every day. President Reagan was a true blue, incredibly intelligent and insightful conservative, but some of his regretted policy decisions were not. By contrast, President Trump may not call himself a “conservative”, but he is governing as the most conservative president we have ever had.
Forget Trump’s tweets for a moment. The outcomes of his policies have set America on a much brighter path—domestically and internationally. That is indisputable.
This doesn’t matter to the Never Trumpers in the media. The reason Donald Trump has to go is because he is an existential threat to their world order.
Every time they praise a Republican president, remember: the only Republicans they like are those who capitulate to Democrats, refuse to punch back, or are dead. Sad, but true.
It doesn’t matter what the media says now about Bush 41. We remember all too well how they treated him when he was president, and how gleeful they were when the thoroughly corrupt Bill Clinton beat him in 1992 because Independent candidate Ross Perot siphoned 19% of the vote away from President Bush.
When Donald Trump dies, like when Reagan and Margaret Thatcher died, the media will not lionize him. They will attack him.
They only attack truly EFFECTIVE leaders.
For all other Republicans, the media praise posthumously and attempt to make the American people forget how horribly they treated them during their administrations.
I’m not buying it.
And to my liberal friends who have change their social media avatars to Bush 41, we’re not buying that either.
