(Author’s note: for the record, when I dictated this article last week and named it “A Tale of Two Pandemics” the very next day an Investor’s Business Daily writer had the same title for his article. An instance of “great minds”!)
A few years ago, I was a regular contributor to a local news station here in Houston. A new news director came on board, and she immediately lamented that I always made everything political, and why did I do that?
I said: “Because everything IS political. Everything is status quo leftist. The left seeks to inject politics into everything. Conservatives are just pointing it out and fighting against it.” Since she was a knee-jerk leftist herself (didn’t hide it well at all) she did not want to acknowledge this fact. She just laid it on me. I was rather incredulous that a news director did not understand the very nature of her business.
But she was a fellow traveler so she couldn’t see it.
As is usually the case, I have been proven right time and time again. EVERYTHING is political. There is one set of rules for Republicans, and another for leftists.
This has been made crystal clear in the last few weeks with the media in complete hyperventilation and panic over the coronavirus.
In late January, before anyone else, President Trump recognized the threat of this disease and immediately suspended all flights from China into the United States. He was, of course, called a xenophobic racist. It turns out, he did the exact right thing. He has now suspended flights from Europe into the United States, and lo and behold! The rest of the world “leaders” are now following suit – almost TWO months later.

Everything Trump has done has been derided, mocked, and criticized. But yet, worldwide the virus has only claimed around 3,800 lives – in a population of over four billion people. Contrast that with the regular, boring flu which so far has killed around 113,000 people this year.
Aside from the normal carping that Democrats do about Donald Trump, let’s contrast the medias reaction the way the media handled health crisis events during the Obama administration.
There were several events during his administration that he did not handle nearly as quickly or as well as Trump and his team have done so far.
With the swine flu (the HINI virus – or N2H3 virus if you’re Joe Biden) hit in 2009, 13,000 Americans were infected, and 1,000 deaths were recorded before Obama even declared it a health emergency. He certainly didn’t shut down any travel. He just threw money at it. The media reverently praised The First Black President™ and gave him a pass on everything — as they did for an entire eight years. In total, there were almost 61 million cases of HINI, with over 12,000 deaths. The media was dutifully silent about this.
The same liberals screaming about Trump not doing as much as Obama (which is a total joke, as Trump has once again called their bluff) are the same liberals screaming how racist it is to want to close the southern border. They STILL cling to their idea of a borderless world and a globalist mentality.
Not to be outdone by the media, the Democrats have sunk to lows I didn’t think were even possible.
The coronavirus bill the Democrat-controlled Congress sent to the Senate to fight the disease was stuffed full of Hyde amendment-killing, abortion loving fun, a forever extension of SNAP benefits, and other welfare nonsense.
On cue, because Republicans refuse to immediately vote to approve this pork-laden monstrosity, Schumer went to the Senate floor and accused Republicans of killing coronavirus funding!
Then, Joe Biden and the Senate Democrat PAC sent out a fundraising email THAT VERY NIGHT trying to capitalize on the health crisis.
And the media acts incredulous when Republicans rightfully point out that they, working with Democrats, have been politicizing this since day one?!
Now we as a country are in Phase Two of this show. I would just like to urge everyone to CALM DOWN. There is a 99.999999% chance you will NOT die of coronavirus. The population it affects tends to be 70 and higher, and most of those people have underlying health conditions. As we all “socially isolate” (on St. Patrick’s Day, no less!!!) let’s all take a deep breath and put things in perspective.
I get that President Trump had no choice but to call the media’s bluff. The fifteen day “break” we are taking in America will end, and I predict after this is over, our economy and country will rebound very quickly.
But you can’ t discount how evil the Deep State is, or the lengths they will go to destroy Trump.
I don’t want anything to do with these people any more.
These are not people with whom we can work. They are purely partisan. They do not love this country and the only thing they care about is power. This is simply the latest act in the never-ending play called “Get Trump” put on by Democrats and the media 24-hours-a-day.
They think if they continue to beat us down that we will finally relent and give them what they want.
We can never do that.
As we’ve seen for the last three and a half years, this insipid play written by hyper leftists was first about the Russian collusion hoax and then the Ukraine hoax. Always peppered in was fake outrage about Trump’s tweets, tax returns, and everything else. Now it’s the coronavirus that is going to finally be the thing to take out Trump!
No.
Silver lining? Hopefully this farce will expose to the world how evil and Machiavellian Democrats truly are.
I’ve said this many times – I want a divorce from these people.
It is now crystal clear to anyone who isn’t a complete hack that the media is a far-left cabal that seeks to cover up any wrongdoing by Democrats. After all, they bent over backwards for Obama and gave him a pass on everything for his entire presidency.
The same liberals screaming about Trump not doing enough about coronavirus are the same liberals screaming how racist it is to want to close the southern border. Their arguments, like their praise of Obama, are hypocritical and senseless.
Donald Trump just so happens to be the biggest threat they’ve ever seen. He must be stopped. Yet the media sought to destroy Ronald Reagan, George Bush, George W. Bush, and every other Republican with even a semblance of a spine.
But this local news director wanted to pretend like I’m full of crap. No, I’ve been right the whole time. And the dirty little secret is, they all know it.
This too shall pass, and the media will be shown once again as the nakedly political animals they always are. It’s just getting worse. Thank God we have a strong commander in chief at the helm.
It’s a real shame to realize that people are much more reactionary and gullible than I thought they were. And sadly, they listen to this media far too much. Hopefully, there are still more of us than there are of them to see right through their game.
Barack Obama’s administration was the most single corrupt administration in our history. Time and facts will prove me correct. The media did everything they could to cover for Obama and his contempt for and outright malice toward the United States.
They are doing everything they can to destroy Donald Trump. This is just the latest version of it.
It won’t work.
